SAIL ON THE SHIPS

Those interested in sailing on a “tall ship” will have three opportunities during Downrigging Weekend to voyage out onto the waters of the Chester River onboard their choice of seven of the visiting vessels. All three sails will feature the entire Downrigging Weekend fleet loosening their canvas and proceeding under sail-power alone. Ticket prices range from $25-$55 per person, depending upon the vessel. Children under 5 years of age are not permitted to sail.

*Battle Sail simply means that the vessels will fire their guns more often on these trips. Vessels equipped with guns include PRIDE OF BALTIMORE II and SULTANA. Hint - it’s just as fun to be shot at as to shoot!

Tour the Ships

On Sunday afternoon there will be free deck tours on several of the large visiting ships from 2:30-4:30pm. The public is welcome to come down and inspect the entire Downrigging Weekend Fleet. In honor of Halloween, children in costume are encouraged to trick-or-treat onboard as they tour the vessels.
