Working on Sultana

All crew positions on the schooner Sultana are filled for the 2008 sailing season.

Sultana will begin accepting resumes for the 2009 sailing season in November of 2008. Employment for these positions begins in March of 2009 and continues through either mid-August or early-November 2009. Applicants with a bachelor's degree and prior educational/sailing experience are preferred.  In 2009 Sultana is scheduled to sail from a variety of ports on the Chesapeake including Annapolis, Baltimore, Chestertown, Cambridge, Oxford, St. Michael's, Salisbury and Solomons. Sultana will also participate in the annual Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race from Baltimore to Norfolk. 

Applicants should have strong communication skills and an active interest in education. Crew members work 5-day weeks, receive competitive compensation and are provided with a private bunk on board the schooner as well as space in Sultana's crew apartment in downtown Chestertown, Maryland.
